Mission

Each little daily progress lead to a great pleasure.

We believe that it is the most important thing to move toward the goal in education.

That's why awareness to a small growth and change is essential.

"I could do this!" will lead to "I can do this!" in confidence.

It must be scary to challenge something "new to do" or "can not do" for anyone, but when it's done, that results to joy and confidence.

What you can do with confidence is different respectively for each child.

RISE provides behavior intervention service based on the principles of ABA with individualized educational program (IEP) that suits to each child.

What's ABA?

ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) was founded and developed by B.F. Skinner to intervene behavior based on scientific researchs and evidences.

It focuses on "measurable behavior" or behaviors that can be seen, and modifies behavior by changing environment.

Therapists, who are part of an environment, will reinforce (increase the number of) desireble behaviors, and put undesireble behaviors on extinction.

Therapists help children to be able to generalize those behaviors at home and daily settings with families and parents.

It should be hard for children to change their own behaviors by themselves, but it gets eaier for them to do desireble and appropriate behaviors by changing environment.

Each task will be broken down into small steps.

These steps will be taught step-by-step, so children can learn difficult tasks little by little.

For instance, washing hands will be broken down into...

Step1 : start water

Step2 : wet hands

Step3 : add soap

Step4 : rinse soap

Step5 : stop water

Step6 : dry hands

Children doesn't have to do step1 through step6 all at once.

They could do step1 independently one day. Then they can do the next step next day.

When they try hard on a step, they can go to eat snacks!

Let's try step 2 tomorrow! Just like that.

So practice on something difficult takes preferred item.

Especially for young children and children who is working on something challenging, it is necessary for them to get something they prefer after work. That will increase and maintain their motivation to work next time.

Types of prefered item will be assessed appropriately regarding the child's interest, age, and developmental stages.

There are various encouragement to use such as eye-contacts, praises, tickles, foods, and token.

When children have lots of things that they can do independently, preferred item should be faded out, so will be replaced by the sense of accomplishment and satisfaction from completing tasks.

This will lead to initiation and independence.

Family and parents involvement is necessary for reinforcement and generalization of behavior.

For children, reinforcement from family and parents is one of the most powerful thing which facilitates generalization in daily life, because they spend most of the time with the children.

Simply learning knowledge and skills does not improve living.

However, once what is learned during therapy is applied in daily life through the support of family and parents, achieved skills and knowledge will have it value.

RISE uses intervention methods below for therapy.

DTT (Discreat Trial Training)

Practicing a task over and over.

It is especially useful when learning something new or difficult.

VB(Verbal Behavior)

It's focus is on language training.

NET (Natural Environment Training)

Training in natural environment or everyday life.

For example, training to say "Good morning!" to each person you meet.

PRT (Pivotal Response Training)

It targets specific pivotal areas of a child's development. These skills improves communication, social and behavioral behaviors.

RISE applies other up-to-date behavior training methods to therapy proactively.
